Your trusted facial skin care product is ruining your skin. How does it feel to know this? It is shocking, but I shall show you the scientific facts how your trusted facial skin care product is in fact causing a disaster on your skin health!

When you lookout for one facial skin care product, you will come across hundreds of facial skin care alternatives. But you need to be watchful on what you are buying for facial care as it is going to play a significant role in your skin health and looks.

2) Fragrances – These are used in facial skin care products so that they emit a nice smell when the product is applied on the skin. These fragrances are manufactured using chemicals which are known to create skin allergies, skin irritations and many other skin disorders. These harmful chemicals ultimately find their way till our bloodstream and skin tissues, because our skin literally “ingests” and “eats” whatever facial care substance that is applied topically. So if you really like nice fragrance, it would be advisable to use a good quality perfume, rather than such dreaded harmful form of fragrances.

3) Mineral Oils – These are the most abused in facial skin care products. They work in moisturizing the skin temporarily and then clogging the skin’s pores leaving them suffocating to breathe freely. This causes the skin into acne breakouts, irritations and skin allergies, because the skin is unable to throw out the accumulated toxins. Even after such known harmful effects, mineral oils are widely used in facial skin care products because they are available cheaply.

3) Alcohols — These alcohols cause a lot of long term damage to skin health and make it dry and sensitive. The common types of alcohol used are: ethanol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and SD alcohol.

It would be fruitful to look at some kinds of natural ingredients that should ideally form a part of an effective facial skin care product.

Firstly, it should be capable of enhancing the production of the two vital proteins in our body called collagen and elastin. These are the two youth giving vital proteins in our body. They help in maintaining our skin’s firmness, suppleness and elasticity.
